Job Description | Position: Cybersecurity Analyst (AppSec) Location: Quebec or Ontario, Canada Employment Type: Full-time Languages Required: French & English Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Analyst (AppSec) to join our growing IT security team. In this role, you will focus on ensuring the security of our applications by identifying vulnerabilities, implementing secure development practices, and collaborating with the development and operations teams to secure the entire software lifecycle. You will play an essential role in securing our systems and preventing potential threats and breaches. Responsibilities: • Assess and identify vulnerabilities in applications and systems through penetration testing and security audits. • Collaborate with development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC). • Review and ensure the implementation of security best practices, including secure coding standards and practices. • Perform risk assessments and threat modeling on applications. • Assist in incident response and investigations related to application security breaches or vulnerabilities. • Keep up to date with the latest security threats and trends in application security. • Implement and maintain security tools such as Static and Dynamic Application Security Testing (SAST/DAST), Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions. • Conduct security training and awareness for development teams to promote secure coding practices. • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to enhance application security. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field. • 4 years of experience in a cybersecurity role with a focus on application security. • Experience with security testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Fortify, Checkmarx). • Strong understanding of common security vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and secure coding practices. • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and securing cloud-based applications.
